Industry-Leading Protection

Comprehensive Warranty Coverage

Every window Woodruff installs is backed by the manufacturer’s warranty on the product and our own guarantee on the installation. Here’s exactly what that means, what it covers, and how to use it if you ever need to.

Trusted Warranty Partners & Certifications

What Your Warranty Covers

We separate warranty coverage into three clear categories so you know exactly what’s protected and who stands behind it.

Frame & Hardware

Manufacturer warranty on the structural and mechanical components of your window, including frames, sashes, locks, hinges, and operators. Coverage period varies by brand and product line.

  • Discoloration or warping of frame materials
  • Mechanical failure of operating hardware
  • Factory finish defects

Glass & Glazing

Protection against insulated glass seal failure, permanent fogging between panes, and specific types of glass defects depending on the product tier and brand.

  • Argon gas retention and seal integrity
  • Seal failures causing fogging or obstruction of vision
  • Stress cracks within the first two years in most product lines

Labor & Installation

Woodruff’s own guarantee on the quality of our installation work, separate from the manufacturer’s product warranty and covering the craftsmanship of our in-house crew.

  • Flashing and waterproofing at the installation perimeter
  • Proper alignment and operation from day one
  • 10-Year Workmanship Guarantee

Understanding Transferability

Selling your home? Here’s how your warranty adds value to your property and what the new owner can actually expect.

Transferrable Warranties

These warranties can be passed on to the next homeowner, increasing the resale value of your property and providing peace of mind to buyers.

Adds Resale Value

Highly attractive feature for potential buyers.

Process

Usually requires written notice to the manufacturer within 30-60 days of sale.

Limitations

Often converts to a limited term (e.g., 10 years from original install) upon transfer.

Non-Transferrable Warranties

Coverage applies only to the original purchaser and terminates automatically upon the sale or transfer of the property.

Original Owner Only

Voided immediately when property changes hands.

Lower Initial Cost

Often found on entry-level product lines.

No Action Required

Automatically ceases; no notification process needed when selling.

How to Register Your Warranty

Ensure your coverage is active by registering promptly after installation. Most manufacturers recommend registration within 30 days.

Step 1

Locate Order Number

Find the Woodruff invoice or order number provided at project completion. You’ll need this to identify your installation date and product configuration.

Step 2

Gather Labels

Locate the NFRC or manufacturer label on your installed window units. These are typically found on the interior frame or sash and contain the product serial number needed for registration.

Step 3

Visit the Manufacturer Portal

Go to the specific manufacturer registration link provided in the warranty matrix above. Each brand maintains its own registration system. Do not delay: most warranty terms begin from the original purchase date regardless of registration.

Step 4

Save Confirmation

Keep a digital and physical copy of your registration confirmation. Store it with your home files alongside your Woodruff invoice. If you sell your home, this documentation is what the new owner will need to verify coverage.

Filing a Claim

Experiencing an issue? We’ve streamlined our claims process to get your problem resolved quickly and efficiently.

  1. Initial Assessment
Submit photos and details of the issue through our online portal or call our support line at (214) 225-1922. We’ll determine whether the issue falls under the manufacturer’s product warranty or Woodruff’s installation guarantee and route it accordingly.
  2. Manufacturer Coordination
Woodruff acts as your advocate with the manufacturer, submitting the required documentation and following up on your behalf. You won’t be navigating manufacturer warranty language on your own.
  3. Parts Ordering
Once your claim is approved, we coordinate expedited shipping of any replacement parts or components directly to our warehouse so there’s no lag between approval and scheduling.
  4. Service Scheduling
Our crew schedules a visit to complete the warranty repair or replacement. The same standard that applied to your original installation applies to every warranty service call.

FAQ

Common Exclusions & Maintenance

What voids my warranty? Improper maintenance and cleaning.

Using abrasive cleaners, pressure washers, or non-approved solvents on frames or glass can void coverage. Painting vinyl or fiberglass surfaces, applying unapproved window films or tints, or attaching items to the frame in ways not specified by the manufacturer can also void warranty protection. Always follow the care and maintenance guide provided with your windows. When in doubt, call us before you clean, paint, or modify anything near the frame.

What’s the difference between normal wear and tear versus a covered defect?

Normal wear and tear, including minor scratches, surface weathering, and gradual finish changes over time, are not covered by any manufacturer warranty. A covered defect is a failure directly caused by a manufacturing error in materials or workmanship that impairs the window’s intended function. Fogging between the panes caused by seal failure is a covered defect. A scratch on the exterior frame from a weed trimmer is not. If you’re unsure which category your issue falls into, call us and we’ll help you evaluate it before you file a claim.

What damage from acts of nature or environmental conditions is excluded?

Storm damage, hail impact, flooding, lightning, and damage from settlement of the building structure are explicitly excluded from all three manufacturer warranties we carry. Environmental conditions such as atmospheric pollution, salt air, and excessive humidity that cause surface degradation over time are also excluded. If a North Texas hailstorm breaks a pane of glass, that’s a homeowner’s insurance claim, not a manufacturer warranty claim. NT Windows offers an optional Glass Breakage Warranty that can be added at purchase to cover accidental glass breakage separately from the standard limited lifetime warranty.
