A Vision Rooted in Doing Things Right
Woodruff Windows didn’t start as a business plan. It started as a belief that homeowners in McKinney, Texas deserved better than what was available to them: better products, better installation, and a company that would still pick up the phone after the job was done.
In 1982, that belief became a company. What began as a small, focused operation serving families in and around McKinney grew entirely through word-of-mouth, one well-installed window at a time. No national advertising. No subcontracted crews. Just honest work, finished trim, and a crew that left every home cleaner than they found it. Over 40 years later, that’s still the entire business model.
Beyond the Glass
Our capabilities have grown alongside the communities we serve. Here’s the full scope of what Woodruff Windows brings to North Texas homeowners.
Window Replacement
Custom-fitted, energy-efficient window replacements for McKinney and DFW area homes. Every style, every opening size, every architectural profile, installed by our in-house crew with finished trim and paint matching included.
Door Replacement & Installation
Sliding patio doors, French doors, bifold systems, multi-panel sliding doors, stacking glass doors, and entry doors. Full structural assessment, installation, and finish work handled by the same crew start to finish.
Glass Replacement
Fogged insulated glass units, broken panes, and failed seals replaced without removing the full window frame where the frame is still sound. A faster, more cost-effective solution when the glass is the problem.
Supply & Wholesale
Window and door supply for contractors, builders, and property managers who need access to the same brands we install, Pella, Burris, and NT Windows, at competitive wholesale pricing.
Energy Efficiency Consultation
Guidance on glass packages, Low-E coatings, U-Factor and SHGC ratings, and ENERGY STAR South-Central compliance for homeowners who want to understand what their windows are actually doing for their home’s thermal envelope.
Post-Install Care & Warranty Support
We stay involved after the installation is done. Warranty coordination, post-install questions, and service calls are handled by the same team that did the original work. You’re not navigating a manufacturer’s 1-800 number on your own.
What Drives Us Every Day
Uncompromising Precision
We assess the opening before the window goes in. We set the frame level and plumb before we seal it. We verify the hardware before we call the job done. Close enough is not a standard we recognize.
Relentless Accountability
From the first consultation to the final walkthrough, every step of your project is owned by Woodruff. No bids, no handoffs, no excuses. When something isn’t right, we come back and make it right.
Community Stewardship
We live and work in the same neighborhoods as the families we serve. It’s likely that someone on your street had their windows replaced by us. We treat every home with the care it deserves, leave every job site cleaner than we found it, and invest in the McKinney community well beyond the projects we’re hired to complete.
Meet the Woodruff Team
Our greatest asset is our people. Every installer, every project coordinator, and every person who answers the phone at Woodruff is a direct employee of this company. No subcontractors, no revolving door of unfamiliar faces. Just a team that takes pride in the work they do in your home and the reputation they’re building in this community.

Excellence
Our Quality Assurance
Great products perform like budget units when they’re installed carelessly. The Woodruff standard exists to make sure that never happens on any job we touch.

Complete Opening Prep Before Anything Goes In
Every rough opening gets assessed and corrected before the window unit is installed. That means shimming, leveling, and squaring the frame, then sealing the full perimeter with premium exterior caulk and interior insulating foam. We close the thermal and moisture envelope completely before the trim goes on.
- Rough opening leveled and squared before window installation begins
- Full perimeter sealed with premium exterior caulk and insulating foam
- Secondary flashing applied at sill and jamb intersections on every exterior opening
Hardware Verified. Trim Finished. Site Cleaned.
We don’t consider an installation complete until every lock engages correctly, every tilt latch releases cleanly, and every weatherstrip compresses evenly. Interior and exterior trim is custom-fitted and paint-matched before the final walkthrough. Then we clean up completely, including disposal of old window units and restoration of any surfaces disturbed during the work.
The Result:
A window that operates correctly from day one and a home that looks better than the day we arrived.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you manufacture your own windows?
No, and we think that’s worth being upfront about. We are professional installers who partner with three manufacturers we’ve vetted, tested, and stood behind for decades: Pella, Burris, and NT Windows. All three are manufactured in or specifically for the Texas climate. We choose our partners based on performance and warranty integrity, not markup. Our value is in the installation, the finish work, and the accountability that comes with being the company whose name is on the job.
What kind of warranty do you provide?
Every window we install carries the manufacturer’s limited lifetime warranty on the product itself, covering the frame, glass, hardware, and components depending on the brand and product line. On top of that, every installation is backed by Woodruff’s own workmanship guarantee covering the quality of our installation separately from the product warranty. Visit our warranty page for full coverage details by brand.
Do you hire subcontractors for installations?
Never. Every installer who works on your home is a direct Woodruff employee. We made a decision early on to build and keep our own crews rather than subcontract, and that decision is one of the primary reasons our installation quality has stayed consistent for over 40 years.
How long does a typical full-home replacement take?
Most whole-home replacements are completed in one to two days on site depending on the number of windows and the scope of the project. From the day you approve your written quote to the day installation is complete, most projects run four to eight weeks, with the majority of that time in custom manufacturing. We give you a specific timeline during your consultation and confirm your installation date in advance so you can plan around it.
